“I am proud to belong to a religion
which has taught the world tolerance and universal acceptance.” – Swami Vivekananda.
The recent bomb blasts in Hyderabad
indicate growing terrorism in India which is the result of the provocative
statements by political leaders in India and also the handiwork of terrorists across
the border. It must be condemned by all right thinking people where innocent
people who were waiting to go back to their homes were killed in blasts. Was it
due to intelligence failure? Media reports that the central government warned
the state government about the attacks in Hyderabad well in advance. Of course,
it is always tough to predict how culprits operate as they change their
strategies and tactics to create terror and panic among the people to make
their presence felt.
As usual, the politicians poured to
the bomb site with the ruling party defending itself while the opposition
parties blaming the government for inaction. It is a routine blame game and
people forget this tragic event as Indians have short memory.
Currently ‘hate speeches’ by
politicians has become common in India where courts take immediate action
against such politicians and put them behind the bars. But politicians come out
on bail and do their things as usual. Judiciary must take stringent action against unscrupulous
politicians who deliver hate speeches and create differences among the people in
the name of religion, region, caste and language.
Some of the Indian politicians play several
games to ensure their survival. They do
actions in such a way that they make their presence felt mostly by raising
religious, regional, linguistic and caste cards. They know that this is the
best way to survive in a country like India. It is for the people to spot such unscrupulous
politicians and reject them in elections.
Indian politicians seldom talk about
solutions. They spend a lot of time by attending the problems rather than
addressing them. Even though there are some good politicians in India who have
a sincere heart to make the difference to the society, the other political
parties will not allow good things happen for fear of losing their votes in
elections.
We need to promote universal
fraternity and brotherhood championed by Swami Vivekananda. It was Swami
Vivekananda who enlightened the world that India is a melting pot where people
of all faiths live amicably with fraternity and brotherhood. He traveled on foot across India to spread
religious tolerance, social harmony and universal brotherhood. We need another youth leader like Swami
Vivekananda to mobilize youth and other citizens to promote universal
brotherhood and fraternity and achieve economic prosperity.
“Those who really feel universal
brotherhood do not talk much, but their very actions speak aloud.” – Swami
Vivekananda.
Life is great!
