“Influence Others with Mirroring Technique” - Professor M.S.Rao

“You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.” - Dale Carnegie

Everyone wants to influence others and make more friends as it is one of the basic human needs.  However, everyone will not succeed but only a few succeed to impact others. You can use ‘mirroring technique’ to connect and influence others quickly. When you are in a public gathering or group, observe the ambience and get into the situation with a flexible mindset. Listen to the people closely the way they talk, and about the topic. Display your authentic interest to listen to others. Nod your head in agreement with a cheerful note and get an entry into it. Then depending on the situation, and when one of the persons makes a long pause during conversation, initiate and talk briefly by expressing your viewpoints. If you disagree with the views of other person, express it with etiquette in a polite and pleasing language. If you agree to their viewpoint, you can express the same by adding a few more points. Here is how the mirroring technique works:

You must mirror as per the other person based on body language, voice modulation and oral language. You must mould your body language, voice modulation and oral language as per the other person and reciprocate accordingly to create compatibility and chemistry. It requires a lot of practice to adopt mirroring techniques. But it is easy to adopt when you are aware of this technique. All that you need is to possess a positive attitude and mindset to connect with others. If you become an expert in this technique you can not also influence others but also inspire others to make a difference in the lives of others.

“Perhaps you will forget tomorrow the kind words you say today, but the recipient may cherish them over a lifetime.” - Dale Carnegie
