“Follow-up Regularly to Achieve Greater Success in Your Life” - Professor M.S.Rao
"If you want to be happy, set a
goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy, and inspires your
hopes."— Andrew Carnegie
Most people work hard by keeping their
deadlines. They achieve success one after another. But success can be achieved
quickly when they follow-up regularly. It is observed that some people jot down
the tasks and take up some other tasks without focusing on the prioritized
tasks. It does no good in the long run. Following-up
the tasks regularly will help you overcome this challenge.
It is essential to write what is to be
done everyday morning and take feedback in the night about what was done and
what is yet to be executed. This exercise will inculcate self-discipline and
will take you to tremendous success in the long run. It is often called to-do
list.
People write goals annually and check
at the end of the year about their status. Of course, all goals cannot be accomplished
as things don’t favor the way people wanted. They find out the reasons for
non-accomplishment of their goals and ensure that they carry forward the
unaccomplished goals to the following year. They also work harder with little
more focus to accomplish those unaccomplished goals. Similarly, it is essential
to create goals on monthly, weekly and daily basis to enhance focus and achieve
amazing success.
Follow-up is essential in every aspect
of life. For instance, you must follow-up when attended an employment interview.
It indicates your interest in employment to your recruiter. As a sales person,
you went to a customer and explained about your products and services; you must
follow-up to reach your sales targets. When you meet new people in associations
and programs, it is essential to follow-up. Likewise, follow-up is essential in
every aspect of your life. It serves you as a guideline and feedback whether
you are the right track.
In my personal life, I have the
practice of carrying my note book whenever I attend meetings and programs. I
jot down the key points on my note book instantly. After I reach my home, I
transfer the important things to my computer in a separate document with details
for my future reference. If I find
something new, I work on those triggers and write articles on them later. In my professional life, I check my e-mails
regularly and make it a point to respond promptly and follow-up as I have daily
deadlines. I push the tasks that are less significant to work on some other
time to enable the significant tasks to execute effectively.
Time is a precious resource and we
must know how to manage our time effectively. Whether the rich or poor, they
are blessed with time. Hence, creating a to-do list and taking feedback daily
helps you manage your time and achieve greater success in your life.
“Review your goals twice every day in
order to be focused on achieving them” – Les Brown

“Do You have the Attitude of Gratitude?” - Professor M.S.Rao
“A thankful heart is not only the
greatest virtue, but the parent of all the other virtues.”— Cicero
Gratitude is an integral part of life.
In some countries, ‘thanksgiving day’ is celebrated to express their gratitude.
When someone does favor to us, we must recognize it and reciprocate in whatever
the manner possible to us. It gives us a great relief to our mind that we also contributed
our best to the people who helped us at the right time. Unfortunately, people
take the help for granted and some people even go to the extent of fooling
others. It presents them in a poor light and brings down their personality and
image in the society.
Gratitude helps you view life with an
optimism. Everything appears amazing and exciting when you express your
gratitude. Your thoughts will become positive; your actions will become
positive; and your life will become beautiful.
When you express the attitude of gratitude you create positive vibes
around you which is healthy for your mind, body and soul. It not only keeps you
hale and hearty but also keeps the people around you happy and healthy.
Expressing gratitude is not only for
the people who helped us but also to the God who is kind to us by giving
strength to overcome several challenges in our lives. Unfortunately, people
ignore God when they are in good times and remember Him only during bad times. There
are people who take credit whenever they achieve success. They don’t thank the
people who contributed to their success. They don’t even thank God for their
success. But when things don’t favor and
go wrong they blame God or pray to God to provide strength. It is very sad to
note that they don’t have the attitude of gratitude.
We must always remember the people who
helped us. Behind the success of every individual there is someone who laid the
ladder of success. We must remember and thank them regularly. We must also pray
to God for our success. Here are the ways to express your gratitude:
- Maintain a gratitude diary. Write down the list of people who helped you in the past. Express the same regularly. I have the habit of gifting books to my students and followers to inspire them. My intention is to make a difference to build a better world. Also, I dedicate my books to some people who are kind in nature and good in behavior.
- The biggest gift you can give to others is spending your time. Express your gratitude by spending sometime with the people who helped you in the past.
- Use words like ‘thank you’ ‘I am grateful to you’ and ‘I appreciate your kind gesture’ to thank the people who helped you. It is difficult to get good people and friends. If you are lucky to get such good people, hold them close to your heart. We don’t take away any wealth when we die. We leave either good or bad reputation. Leave this world with good reputation. It inspires others to repeat the same to make this world better.
Don’t take the people for granted and
regret later. Respect the people who cared for you and helped you. Have an
attitude of gratitude. Express it once in a while. It spreads a good message
for others who in turn help others. If
everyone has the attitude of gratitude, we can live in a beautiful world with
peace and prosperity. You must be
grateful to the people who helped you and stood by you. Although good spread
late its impact is immense and beyond lifetime.
I am what I am because of the
contribution made by many unsung heroes. I have gratitude towards them. Do you
have gratitude toward the people who helped you? If you have, you are on the
right track to become a better citizen.
“Let us rise up and be thankful, for
if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t
learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we
didn’t die; so, let us all be thankful.” — Buddha
